I was reading through the comments on the "I'm stupid" post, and noticed how someone mentioned that the majority of social applications are simply CRUD apps. My question is how does one go beyond that? I understand curating content is a possibility but succesfully pulling that off generally requires a dataset of some sort to start off. What possibilities exist other than data mining?
