"Rewiring democracy"... Oh dear, I wonder what they could possibly mean by that? Diminishing the influence of anyone who criticises the status quo in case they upset the current cosy arrangements. I think it is debatable how much democracy we currently have — silly two party systems, oligarchical control of mass media, or the fact that big business and shady conferences influence the direction of our society more than individual voters ever do. Also many of us live under monarchies who are there whether we want them or not.

No, I'm not in the USA. We have a two party system here, albeit a softer one than the US, with some other parties getting MPs. It is well known that certain rich people influence our politics more than they should. It's barely even hidden since some of them get given government contracts or honours so that they can put letters after their name.
