I don't accept that point. I don't care about cancer and heart disease as those are mostly, to some degree, my responsibility. Excersize, eat well, don't smoke. That message is well known and common so it's not news. It's just common sense at this point, even if plenty of people choose to enjoy junk food and smoking for a shorter life.

On the other and, there's not much I can do about crime and it massively affects my day-to-day life, far more than cancer and heart disease. It determines where I want to live, what activitives I'm willing to do, where I can hangout safely, what precautions I have to take, etc...
