I wish we had better tools to manage this stuff, that didn't require custom scripting (I consider DIY software that needs maintenance one of the worst kinds of clutter, because it clutters your time).
Like, I should be able to say "Keep one copy of videos in high res, but convert to streaming quality for backups, and it's ok to delete the original after a few years if I'm not doing anything with it".
We should be able to search by content of photos and videos and pdfs and such easier. Ideally built into the browser so all our searching is in one place, and because the browser is usually where things get saved from.
