Control vs. Acceptance (healthydev.substack.com)

i think people will benefit from reminding themselves that they always have an option to do nothing, and sometimes its the best thing to do. This is not mere acceptance. It is understanding that there are other forces at play. Sometimes, you need to step back and let things unfold without input. Good intention doesn't guarantee good outcome. And your sacrifices might hurt you and others both.

Your dichotomy is right though, i think. It is tao vs goggins mindset. People tap into either these two 'states' cause they are true.

Lazy people stay lazy because subconsciously they understand there is some genuine truth in how they live life. One of the hardest thing for me to learn is that, laziness is not good or bad. It just is. It's difficult because we have the need to justify ourselves to others. And we fear being perceived as lazy the most. Not to say that being lethargic is good, but sometimes what we need to do and what a lazy person would do is the same, and we will look the same.
