William Scheier, the guy who wrote “Rise and Fall of the Third Reich” wrote and article warning against the rise of a united Germany.

It seems quaint in retrospect. Germany is currently making noises about maybe, possibly, rearming. Other countries (France!) seemed ticked they aren’t doing it faster.
