> Davis with cutting $500 million in costs; instead, he cut close to $1 billion — all while sleeping in the office with his partner and their newborn child.

Wow, I had to double check to see if this was satire. At what point will we take a step back and look at and criticize hustle culture in the USA. Because this is already leaps and bounds ahead of whatever line in the sand I had in mind.

> Davis’ star has risen steadily since he came to Twitter as part of Musk’s transition team last year. In December, the Information reported that Musk tasked Davis with cutting $500 million in costs; instead, he cut close to $1 billion — all while sleeping in the office with his partner and their newborn child.

Get your newborn on that grindset, bro!

Who on your team is exceptional? Davis asked managers when they got on the phone. Who would you bet your job on?

Will the answer change depending on motive? Bonus or layoffs?

If I were at Twitter under Musk, I would not expect any significant bonuses, given all the frugality / money saving new going around. So if I was asked about bonuses, I might not work very hard, given that the stakes are (likely) so low.

(This is all speculation, I've never worked at Twitter nor I know anyone who works there)

What is with Musk and people sleeping in offices? Like, is he cosplaying as Kim Jong Il? It's absolutely bizarre.

AI generated hero image is an interesting gambit.
