I see a paragraph describing the physicals and one describing the virtuals. Just after that would have been a good place to write something about how the convoy was widely supported by physicals and not by virtuals, and how this difference in support is precisely what suggests a new class divide.
Or not, if there isn't such a wide difference in support.
Most covid mandates were imposed at the provincial level, which controls the health system in Canada (feds only provide cash). Feds’ mandates only applied to things like the train system, airplane travel, the federal workforce and entry into Canada. I don’t recall any mention of these areas.
The initial complains was that international trucking was restricted, but entry into the us is controlled by the us, not Canada (or Mexico, or…). Currently, the us govt has a “do not go to Canada” as the state department travel advisory and a vaccination requirement for entry for non us-ians. I don’t recall protests at any us consulates or the embassy.
If you are going to protest, at least choose the proper target. Like in the us, these “protests” were merely people wanting to discard some aspect of the political system and/or were tired of being inconvenienced and tossing their toys out of the pram. Pro tip… Successful protests build public support, rather than public hostility.
