While this post seems to have fallen off the HN front page quickly, thanks for posting it. The identification of three streams of “Catholic Enlightenment” seems useful. It is interesting to consider the manifestations of these three streams in contemporary Catholicism, as well as the manifestations of “anti-enlightenment” thought today.
