Thank you very much. It seems very useful.

The problem is not blocking the ads. I already do that. The problem is how to prevent YouTube recognizing my extension as an ad blocker

I see. I'm quite impressed you were able to block those video ads in the first place. I thought they originated from the same domain as the regular videos.

The problem is that I own an extension that blocks ads and is detected as an ad blocker. So, I am looking for a technical solution on how to prevent YouTube from detecting my extension as an ad blocker.

I got the same answer from a friend of mine :) That's good for my but it does not help with my extension. I cannot tell the users go and use Brave. I am trying to find a way to avoid my extension being detected as an ad blocker

Best I managed with mine (which pressed Skip for you) was to make it mute ad-videos

So, you stopped blocking ads and muted them instead?

yeah, Google said this is an ad blocking extension when it got it to press the skip button. I was only making it for myself so I didn't want to risk get in my account banned by testing, testing, testing.

After 5 years, my extension Music Mode for YouTube™ had only 20,000 users. But in early September, it was featured on the Chrome Web Store homepage under "For music lovers" section, bringing in 10,000 new users in a month and driving a huge increase in daily installs!

Music Mode for YouTube™ is an extension both for Chromium and Firefox browsers that its main functionality is to block the video and play only the audio on YouTube Music and YouTube for mobiles. Unfortunately, on YouTube, video and audio are now combined in a single file, so the extension can only hide the video rather than blocking it entirely.

I think that you know that it does not work. First of all you don't declare what language it explains. Secondly, I tried the most simple example in the web app: to set a value to a variable. I tried "int i = 0;" and "var i = 0" and both return explanations for things that I have not written. Please, create first something that works and then try to promote it

Very beautiful

Music Mode for YouTube is the only browser extension that blocks the video. All the other extensions they don't use the video but the video is downloaded. You can check this in the dev tools and specifically in the network panel where you can see all the files that are downloaded (or not)

I wish there was an app for this in 2010-ish. Would have saved me so much cell data.

As it says it does not load the video. But it downloads it. This file is from the Audio only YouTube extension

Ha ha ha. I think that they know them. But in desktop there are many ways to change it with extensions or even browsers other than Chrome. So they don't give it a try
