I’ve been doing this with a tmux tunnel and an app on my laptop that connects sessions you select to a virtual terminal using sockets. I asked Claude to build it and it works great - full terminal functionality and Markdown review with comments so you don’t need to cross your eyes to review plans.
Excited to see how this matures so people without that inclination can also be constantly pestered by the nagging idea that someone, somewhere is being more productive than them :)
I don’t think the US understood how far ahead the Russians were in bomb development at the time. There wasn’t really a good window where we had it and we knew they didn’t where the enmity was so bad that we would have wanted to strike first.
The US also didn’t understand how much work had to be done to get their weapon onto an aircraft, etc - so the worst case scenario always turns out to be too bad to consider rationally (MAD)
That’s a bit of a canary is it not? You don’t need to say that and wouldn’t know to say that unless you had worked in the space or wanted us to think you did :)
Crons. A local daemon. System access as a user with the ability to listen to changes. Some idea of shared “memory” between sessions. Provider agnostic about AI. Multi-model.
We do this with a raspberry pi and a decent lcd screen in a picture frame in our kitchen. I like the idea of e-ink but there isn’t a reason to go that route if you want to see everyone’s calendar color-coded while also saving a few bucks.
Love the artistry and dedication in this effort - getting something just right for your own tastes and honing it over time can be really fulfilling.
