Then what happened to this study? There was a lot of hype about it, supposedly a lot of money raised, and then nothing happens. It was supposed to be this big "independent" study on GMOs, and then nothing happens. That doesn't sound fishy?
I totally agree that this one study sounds ‘fishy.’
That said, I think in general that GMO technology is moving forwards too fast without enough study. Same opinion on pesticides, and pesticide-GMO combos.
We need to balance feeding more people with taking care not to cause a technology caused catastrophe.
The thing about science is that it's fairly easy to prove something is harmful. It's darn near impossible to prove something is safe. Organic food isn't 100% safe, and is more likely than conventional to be contaminated with pathogens such as e coli. But after 25 years of use with no proof otherwise, I'd say GMOs have met the burden of proof.
