First I'm hearing of this tool and it seems really nice. Do you perhaps have an open repo that shows how you are using the dhall files? If I can reduce my config files to dhall + justfile I'd be quite happy.

I've read through this article twice now and I still fail to see your point.

Steve is most likely more familiar with Rust than any other language - which is why I would expect comparisons between it and Ada - but he doesn't go out of his way to insist on Rust's superiority.

My votes go to Rust and Elixir. I'd say I've had the most fun in Elixir recently, but Rust comes a very close second - especially once the borrow-checker and I started seeing eye to eye.

I’ll definitely look into Elixir some more. I don’t have a lot of experience with functional languages so it could be a worthwhile choice for me.

AFAIK the problem with the old context is that values in context were not used to determine whether or not the component tree should update. So if a context value in A changed, but no props/local state changed, it would not redraw the tree below it (B -> C). If C's render depended on the context value, it would not be redrawn to reflect the change.

I presume you have sources backing the claim that Spotify is the majority of the streaming market. Be that as it may Apple Music is available in far more places that Spotify.

This is as of early last year : https://www.musicbusinessworldwide.com/apple-music-is-now-in...

And as far as I can google, Spotify still isn't available anywhere in Africa officially as of September 2017.

Spotify being a majority of the streaming market numerically doesn't matter too much if its market reach is limited.

Based on numbers [0] released by both companies over the summer, Spotify has twice as many subscribers as Apple Music does.

Surely their having achieved this with limited market reach is positive for them, and not for Apple?

I think it shows they're both very strong competitors. Apple Music, despite being much younger and being 'less cool', has managed to obtain half the market share.

Spotify, despite being in less countries, has managed to go deep into the countries it does support.

Yes, a very simple Google search for "music streaming market share".

Having used Rust since pre-release I'm slightly embarrassed that I'm only learning about this today.

That's ok. I presume you weren't a C/C++ dev before, that's old school shorthand for C coders that don't want to type out suffixes or cast numeric values.

Indeed - I believe it was a highly successful build order that strayed from the 'norm' at the time. I was quite into SC2 at the time and this was something of a big deal.

It was the 7 roach rush. Used extractor trick which was generally considered a bad idea by humans due to being economically bad as well as a double overlord which is also against general build principles, but it turned out that it smoothed into an insanely efficient early attack.

NextTrain: https://www.nextrain.co.za

We have a fledgling train system in the Gauteng area of South Africa (this area includes Johannesburg and Pretoria). However, the only way to see train schedules is via a PDF (2MB) buried deep on their website.

This was a quick weekend hack to show when the next train is for each of the stations, and some additional info.

Is this for the GauTrain? or normal MetroRail service?

GauTrain only

Is the readme supposed to look like that? The first few paragraphs are all 'h2' level text. Very difficult to read through.

I just replaced it with a detailed placeholder for now. (Replacing it was something I had stuck in the back of my mind for a while.)
