What kind of interest rate exactly?

I wouldn’t agree here, because my experiences showed me that in 1-2 months you can know if you are going in the right direction. Of course you can pivot later, but if I do customer research and interviews properly and execute fast with MVP that I can charge for, I can move forward or throw idea and focus on the next one.

They pretty much preach in YC that it'll take 2 years to really know if there's something there. Of course it can happen sooner. But the advice is not to quit before 2 years. Coinbase founder, Airbnb founders, Rippling founder all preach this

If you are happy and satisfied with your current life, then you don’t make any mistakes, no matter if there are cryptocurrencies or not. If you don’t understand cryptocurrencies, do not risk your fiat money. If you want to understand, use demo accounts and learn about every crypto product and why it has trading volume, is it because of market manipulation or there are many people who believes in it and even use it in some game, applications, etc.

This is why I switched to Infinity, it’s much more organized with old folders structure and it’s never messy.

My favorite is Naval’s talk at Tim Ferriss:

https://tim.blog/2020/10/14/naval/amp/

It bugs me that everytime he goes on a talk show recently, he pegs himself up a horse with "I have stopped doing talk shows and I am doing it for you because ____". He comes across as an arrogant and self-serving. Most of his content is rehashing from other books. A lot of it straight from Feynman interviews on Youtube. Some spiritual stuff repeated verbatim from Jiddu Krishnamurthy.

The interesting thing about Naval is that he has a magnetic effect to new listeners and there is a cult-like following. I used to love his early talks and then the more I got to hear him, the more I realized he is just this narciscist rich guy without a shred of humbleness. He has a great sense of clarity in his thoughts and he speaks well. It's a shame really that his character puts me off more than anything else. I'd rather go read original sources with far more insight.

His repeated claims of "I can get rich even if I start over" - yes, Naval, go for it. Give up the name, money and everything you have and try working 2 jobs as a waiter and a nurse, raising kids and keeping your spouse happy while saving enough to go after your investor instincts. The whole thing comes across as out of touch with reality, compassion and thoughtful consideration; instead relies on his survivorship biases as a guiding beacon of life.

I partially agree and partially disagree with you.

I think most of the problem is people treating him (or Tim Ferriss) like a God, and his thoughts as the Holy Bible.

For example, tons of people in Silicon Valley praise "Sapiens" by Harari. When I finally read it, I quickly realized that I knew most of his stuff from other books. Surprised that Naval loved that book so much - but as a consequence, many people have bought and read and praised the book.

I don't know if he's a narcissist person, and I am not sure he's not humble. I think he partially suffers from the same problem that plagues Sam Altman: they both come across in a certain way, because they don't seem to have the social skills to present their persona and give justice to the nice parts. I think it happens when you think most other people are super smart and introverts like you.

I'm pretty sure I saw people getting banned on twitter for disagreeing/challenging him (in a civil way).

That would be strange - why would Twitter give him a preferential treatment? Any source you can provide?

I'm sorry, I did not mean "ban". What I meant was "block". On one occasion I'm pretty sure he responsed to somebody with "virtue signalling" followed by a block, which seemed ridiculous on a platform for exchanging views.

What’s it about? Why did you like it?

I agree, the presentation of important metrics is so crucial and I don’t like it, just wanted to hear HN opnion and actually is there a way to stop this data manipulation somehow? Can we build some product that can somehow solve this problem, because big percentage of population believes everything they see regarding data from ipsos and other big publishers.

Don't sell it, I will take care of marketing for a company share only and I will invest in marketing. You just take care of maintenance. Email on my profile.

The most important thing is that you calm down, because you will just learn a lot of great stuff as a father. Also, first 3 months you will have to support your wife, take care of many thing and you will learn a lot of life lessons that you couldn't learn anywhere. Be less on the phone and in front of TV and take care of your sleep and mental rest (meditation). Look at it as the Life University, because since I got my first kid, I have learned so much about life that helped in business and in every other segment of being a human. Just relax and learn from everything. And whatever happens, be supportive to your wife, because if she is feeling well, with baby and you will be well.

I believe you as a family have good capacity for founding the company, by making some good tech product or a game. And many foundations would finance it for sure.

As you said your son likes Lego and based on his skills, I believe there are a lot of good ideas to make some game or product that would satisfy Lego fans (I’m also a big fan of Lego). Here is one idea that maybe could be interesting and I would pay for it: if you remember the game ‘Gearhead garage’ (http://www.gearheadgarage.com/), I would be happy to get some famous Lego packs (like Batman 1989) which has some mistakes and then virtually fix these mistakes to finish the Lego set. Also, it could be a game where I’m just solving Lego sets virtually.

As you receive Social Security checks, and based on skills you have as a family, I believe you can create some amazing product. I would be happy to help with marketing. And I would be happy to see updates on this.

Very interesting. Is it possible for us reach out to you understand the ideas better? Didn't see contact info in profile. I have my email in my profile.
